Pretty much every morning this year I’ve grabbed my trusty NIV Study Bible, fancy drawing pens, and aging colour pencils.
I find the chance to read a few words, contemplate and doodle highly satisfying.
The last few weeks my rhythms have been disrupted by an arduous work trip, ultra long days and latterly I’ve also ditched the NIV for “The Message”.
I know we know the New Year is coming, but quite frankly I was shocked this morning to turn and see the final page. Right there my diary ends.
Wow.
Apart from a few precious hours we’re done.
Aren’t we often a bit like that in life?
We’ve been discussing retirement and pensions over breakfast. The former is so difficult without the latter, but oftentimes we know something is coming so put it off.
Then one day it comes. Boom!
What we’ve been mentally dodging comes upon us, a bit like an avalanche.
Which comes back to the here and now.
What habits are we developing to equip us for tomorrow?
In January the team at our Church are exhorting us to fast and seek The Lord and his leading.
Can I really lay down the things that so easily entangle?
let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us Hebrews 12:1
I wonder what’s going to happen in the next chapter (God Willing).
