Eventually Eastbourne came into view.

Looking at it from above I was struck by utter flatness of the town, and the outlying area.

I couldn’t help thinking about Lot, and his wife who were given warning to leave the plains of Sodom and Gomorrah and escape the wrath of God.

In truth I’ve been thinking about Lot’s wife all along my journey!

Instead of looking forward I’ve constantly been looking back on what I’ve “achieved already” rather than thinking about where I’m heading.

Of course I have kept my pedals turning, and found the majority of people along the route cheerful and friendly.

Just after crossing the A259 I came across this pool, which presumably provides water to the local livestock.

The girls from the local cycling club have given it a new name “Velodrome”.  One asked me to take a picture, and then returned the favour.

It was quite a laugh whizzing around in circles, although I’ll need to keep up my training to match Jason Kenny and co.
