Let’s be honest last year was a challenge, with travel and accommodation proving very difficult.

Despite everything we still managed to have a good year, with our worst challenges being trying to find loos that were open when we were out walking.

One BIG disappointment was that the first time in my life I went a whole year without returning to my native Cornwall.

Last week we arrived in Gorranhaven to sunshine, and a chance to dine out on the patio of our holiday let.

Okay so we missed out on a swim, but we did see acrobatic Rooks swinging upside down on telephone wires, choughs at less than 2 metres away on The Lizard, and were “skimmed” by Raven’s on Rame Head.

We also had a warm welcome at The Haven Church in Gorranhaven, which set us up for the week. I also retraced my steps on parts of the coast path last seen 9 years ago.

What a county.

I can’t wait to go back again soon.
