Into the Gap – Greensand Way

Our Saturday walk from Nutfield to Godstone had more twists and turns than the trails tackled last year.

In contrast to all the flatlands in Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire last year our 4 hour stroll included over 400 metres of climbing.

Much of the time we were dodging typically leaf mould, churned mud and ankle deep water.

Our southern approach to Godstone featured this curious lane riven between higher ground.

It reminded me of the Thompson Twins, Into the Gap. Back in the eighties they sported weird hair dos, but cranked out a likeable unique style of “pop”.

Listen to them here.
