Robin Hood, Robin Hood,

riding through the glen,

Robin Hood, Robin Hood, with his band of men,

Feared by the bad, loved by the good,

Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Robin Hood.

Three of us had almost no sleep in our North Yorkshire Moors holiday home. The buffoon in red slept like a baby!

Living with rats for 5 nights was as much as we could take!

So on Thursday morning 1/10/20 we decided to leave early and explore Robin Hood Bay, before heading to Louth.

Our 9 mile loop from Ravenscar was quite enjoyable, with none of the rain seen on the Moors the previous day.

Standing on the cliffs looking down on the beaches and plateau below Ravenscar I spotted numerous grey seals, including one pup on the land.

Closer to my viewpoint there was a Guillemot, and umpteen gulls.

Oystercatchers and Heron joined the activity, but after gawping at the view we kept walking and had a picnic on the beach not far from the picture postcard village.

The Robinhood Bay beach sported an ice cream van, and a red Vauxhall VX220 sportscar.

Up in the narrow streets I found a good bookshop, and came away with 5 titles.

We climbed the steep hill to the car park above, and took the “Cinder Track” back to Ravenscar.
