
Bank Holiday Traffic

7:50 pm on a sunny Bank Holiday.
Typically there’s be a multi-lane jam heading north on the carriageway to my right.
Tonight the road was empty, with 2 vehicles heading south as I stood the Smallfield motorway bridge.
My evening ride also took me around our 2 busiest airport. Nothing landing or taking off.
The only sounds after 8pm we’re being made by birds!
No matter how tough it might seem it’s a whole lot better than cowering in your home waiting for the Luftwaffe’s next raid.
Funny how Germany went on to dominate Europe less than 50 years after losing the war.
