Our last 2019 walk
Our in-car weather app indicated that today’s walk would be a mix of mist and sun.
It was wrong.
The figure of 8 walk from Otford to Shoreham and back was beneath unrelenting grey sky.
Even so we had a good time, covering over 5 miles without getting too muddy.
A short diversion to Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve allowed me to “hit” 25 species today.
Highlights were Yellowhammers mixed in with Chaffinch at Otford, and Lapwing on the main lake at Sevenoaks.
We squeezed in a light lunch at the Kings Arms in Shoreham, and spotted a post-war Studebaker pick-up truck in the village.
After an evening meal we were back at home long before midnight.
Lights off – see you in the next decade, God Willing.
You don’t see a Studebaker every day.
