Election Special -Overwhelmingly Blue!
As the nation went to the polling stations I was touching down in Dublin.
For the first time in decades I couldn’t vote, but as parties made extravagant promises I felt unable to trust them anyway.
What fascinated me today were the scriptures in Bible in One Year app, and a short line in a book I’m reading during advent.
Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him. He defended the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me? Declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 22:15-16
Will the majority “blue” party look to reward the wealthy, or seek to help the people on zero hour contracts and low wages?
What the nation needs now is compassionate action, rather than ad hoc sound bites.
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
Proverbs 14:34
