Book 12 – Seriously Disappointing

I’m mindful of the fact that my reading isn’t as rich and varied as it could be.

Mind you I do like a good autobiography.

So around about 12 weeks back I decided to use Waterstones gift card on McEnroe’s latest.

Im not big on tennis, but happen to believe John is the best commentator on tv, regardless of sport.

He is utterly brilliant behind the mic, but this book was a big let down.

Perhaps it should have been entitled “Me, me, me”.

How is it other autobiographies show the author as a part of the story, rather than the central character?

On page 266 he writes “ultimately, pride wins out”.

Whereas I’d suggest pride stands before a fall.

Book Rating: 2 out of 5
