After eating in the recently refurbished Park View pub at Durrington we headed north onto the South Downs.

We negotiated our way through Storrington with surprising ease, then had a short drive up to the Kithurst Hill car park.

I was on a mission.

Following a “tip off ” on The Muddy Paths blog I was out to find a Churchill Tank.

We found it, behind the hedge in the photo.

It was a bit “parky” up on the downs, hence the photo of Roz beating a hasty retreat towards the car.

We had a leisurely drive home.

New Year’s Day 2019 was a good ‘un.

  1. Glad you found the tank! It’s a little off the beaten track and so hard to find if you don’t know the area well.

  2. Glad you found the tank! It’s a bit off the main South Downs Way so can be tricky to find. Thankfully the cold weather didn’t put you off!
