Reims 911
Sometime ago I read that the pits and grandstands at the old Reims motor racing track still stand next to D27 a short distance to the west of the town.
Last week I had the chance to drop by, and experience a slice of motor racing history first hand.
It was used for F1 and sports car racing.
We just happened to pop in when the Mercedes Benz SL300 club were pottering by on a champagne rally.
Here’s a British registered Porsche who like us made the pilgrimage. We were allowed to roam around in the original race control tower, and in and out of the pits.
What a wonderful piece of history, with no apparent vandalism to spoil the experience.
Even better it was free of charge.
