Just short of Ladyholt, and we were taking the full force of a gale.

As the rain came down Tom decided to don his waterproof trousers.

Imagine the scene as they blew this way and that, with Tom trying to slip one wet and muddy boot in each hole.

Meanwhile I was getting soaked, whilst admiring the exquisite details of tiny branches bejeweled with raindrops.

These are the little details that add a sense of grandeur on a dull day.

Each drop hanging tenaciously to the lowest points of a twig, despite the howling wind.

Marvelous.
