Tuesday night at Hedgecourt Lake near East Grinstead.

I took to the saddle rather late and headed North.

Then along the lanes to the Co-op at Smallfield before heading East, along deserted B roads towards Newchapel.

I was on unfamiliar territory, but managed to get my bearings from the relentless descent of Easyjet planes making their final approach to Gatwick.

Heading south down Stubpond Lane I eventually came out on perhaps the prettiest spot in our locality.

Hedgecourt Lake still echoed to the sound of birds, and numerous flies swarmed around my bike as I took this photo.

The pixellated result reminds me of a typical Turner painting sans boat.
