I wonder how many calories I burnt between the last photo and this one? It may only have been 800 yards, but it was pretty hot, and rocky.

A gap on the side of the track was enough to make me stop and take a breather. Throughout the South Downs Way I got a kick out of looking back at the hills I’d “beaten”.

What I didn’t realise at the time was my proximity to an historic site.  The Long Man of Wilmington stands tall just north of this summit.

I’ll have to go back and check him out.
