Alfriston has one of the prettiest High Streets in the South of England.

I discovered it as a sales rep whilst driving my first ever company car.

The shop on the right was one of my customers, and as I breezed by on my bike I was happy to see it still trading

I took a few minutes to relax on  a bench, and chatted to one of the locals.

Then I was riding up and down looking for the correct route towards Jevington.

Once again I called on a local to help me out, the only sign blended into the background making it almost invisible.

It amazes me that on a National Trail there is no consistency with the route marking.

Some signs have a blue arrow, some purple, some white, and some just wooden impressions in an ageing piece of wood.

Thanks to the lady with a greyhound who got me going in the right direction.
