What fun!

A huge field and a virtually straight track through the crops downhill.

That’s Littleton Down starting at 738 feet, falling to 410 feet in about half a mile.

I felt moderately safe doing 20mph with the back brake on, but the two others were well ahead in Gold and Silver medal positions.

Maybe I’d have been happy to hit 30+ if I had my grippy winter tyres on.

Once we’d made it to the valley it was time to cross the A285, and start the long climb up to Sutton Down.

I lost track of my two counterparts, and wonder if they ever made it to Eastbourne.
