Taking heed of my own advice (see popping into Buriton) I simply had to veer off to the left and investigate these ancient earthworks.

I went through the kissing gate, and stood on the highest mound, which had a depression in the middle with numerous flowering plants.

To my right about 50 yards away was a solitary carefree Roe Deer.

Pity the iPhone didn’t get a sharp image.

Some of you may warn me to be careful when it comes to devilish matters, but this is nothing more than a Bronze Age barrow formation.

Ancient Britain, and still accessible with no English Heritage fence to bar access.
