A few hundred yards on from the Mallows we’d gained enough elevation to start taking in the views.

When we planned this walk I didn’t anticipate such good weather, nor such fabulous scenery.

Once we’d got near the top of Itford Hill we could see paragliders above the Lewes Downs 2 miles to the north.

The chap in the photo was working for Outdoor Adventure, and was picking up orange way markers for volunteer walkers seeking to support the Royal Marsden Hospital.

It was his first job since leaving university, and  we walked with him over the next few miles.
