It seems incredible, but we’re just a few miles from a little old castle where Henry VIII went to play.

That was nigh on 500 years ago, but if you’ve got a spare £17 you too can wander around his garden, and check out his bedroom (one of many, so I’ve heard).

These days the road in is generally the preserve of pedestrians, but there are still tell tale signs showing the heavy-weight king traversed this way.

Yup, the tarmac is crumbling away at the edges!

Across the road is a well patronised pub, although I didn’t stop.  I still had around 14 miles to cover.
