Each of the CWGC cemetery is thoughtfully designed, made in accord with the number lost in a particular campaign.

None of them look like they were drawn up on the back of a fag packet.

The really big sites come with additional embellishments, at Delville Wood there’s a museum honouring the victims of two world wars.

Even the approach is a wonder to behold, and there’s inspirational artworks and information panels inside.
