We were in Dorset last night, and called in at Salisbury Cathedral on the way back.

I don’t remember this fabulous font, which beats any that I’ve seen before.

We were happy to take communion but saddened by the size of the congregation.

A 6:30 evening service in St.Nick’s Sevenoaks would be at least 3 times bigger.

Salisbury Cathedral may be steeped in history, but if were a “bird” it would be on the RSPB’s “Red List”.

Will they still be open for worship 10 years from now, or will the one it hoped to glorify have been forgotten?

If this is a snapshot of where the Anglican movement is now it doesn’t look so rosy.
