Our drive down to Worthing had been in thick fog, which translated into a chilly start to my ride.

Leaving the River Adur behind I started my first significant climb towards Devil’s Dyke.

If I hadn’t stopped for a breather I’d have missed the fluffy cloud infill all along the North escarpment of the South Downs.

The furthest visible point is Chanctonbury Ring.

To the left is the little “B” road leading up to Truleigh YHA.

  1. You were lucky there I love to see the cloud in valleys like that under a sunny sky!
