Coming down the west side of Thorney Island we watched microlights landing, r/c aeroplanes crashing, and listened to Brent Geese calling.
However the light was fading, and we hadn’t had a decent meal all day.
It was time to skedaddle, and try and find somewhere to eat.
On our way off the island the MOD gate refused to budge, eventually the duty officer spoke through the intercom and set us free!
Just short of the Emsworth Marina the path headed east.
I looked back to catch the evening sky, with Hayling Island in the distance.
