Remembering those who grieve
Last time I headed back from Arundel I was bouncing along on my road bike, and took several wrong turns before hooking up with The Monarch’s Way.
This time I made all the right connections, and knew I’d cover the last few miles without difficulty.
Sure enough I was soon in familiar territory and my last shot off our 6 hour adventure is at Patching Hill just 20 minutes north of our destination back in Goring.
I was trying to get a solitary crow in the dead tree, but was too slow off the mark.
This bleak landscape reminded me of Nick Cave’s latest release.
If you watch this trailer you might see why i’ve linked the track to the picture.
Where he stands spiritually I know not, but this song was written shortly after he of lost his 15 year old son in a tragic fall in July 2015.
The Lord gladly responds to those who cry out to him in their darkest hour.
Perhaps Nick’s emotional turmoil, and the bleakness of the album indicate a man who is not a million miles from The Truth.
“I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
