Price.

Weight.

Red Tape.

But bridges?

They’re usually better left as they are, fully intact with nothing missing.

Except some bright spark driving a lorry with diggers on board somehow managed to hit a foot bridge over the M20 and cause mayhem.

Structural engineers appear to think that it’s okay to leave one section dangling in mid air.

Although I can’t see there’s much value in having half a bridge.

Thankfully we weren’t caught in the jams this accident caused last weekend.
