I’ve been bitten by the cycling bug.

Back in May I bought my Electra Townie 8, and together we’ve already covered 685 miles.

Whilst it works admirably as a runabout, it has proved less than ideal on off road tracks.

Something better suited to the South Downs was purchased last Thursday . A Trek mountain bike.

So far it’s done less than 40 miles, but I did manage a looping ride starting at St.Roche’s Hill near Goodwood, before riding on to West Dean, Rowland Castle and Chichester.

I took this picture after a slog up a fairly busy road.  It has to be the best kept and most original West Sussex County Council road sign I’ve seen thus far.

Incidentally that is a Roller going towards Chichester, which is the nearest town to the current Rolls Royce factory.
