On Tuesday we took time to remember my Uncle David who passed away a few weeks back.

As I was reading Philippians this morning the picture I’d taken came to mind.

We are all accountable to God, and  most of us have no idea of when our time will be up.

I’m guessing that’s one of the great motivators for those of us in our fifties.

We know our days are numbered and we can ill afford to waste time.

Death is the great leveller, whether we live in a castle or a tin hut we are all going to die (if The Lord doesn’t come first).

Sitting a few yards from a coffin the finality of death is all the more pertinent, and we can value those that remain all the more.

Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

Philippians 4:5
