At the Northern end of Arundel Castle high above everything else is “The Keep”

The 360 degree views are just what you need as a defence.

In ye olden days there would have been timber built housing inside.

I’ll show you one of the vistas in my next post.

  1. Ahhh… the good old days when defense was so much more simple.

    • Although to be fair there’s been a lot more political stability here since WW2. Yesterday I was out riding on part of a 600 odd mile route used by Charles II when there was a civil war going on. Good old Queen Elizabeth has ruled over a pretty stable GB since for over 63 years.
