Looking towards Burpham and Wepham

My favourite view from Arundel Castle was this one, looking towards the North East.

Those tiny hamlets are Burpham and Wepham, which feature some wonderful barn conversions.

The yellowy hills beyond are the southern flanks of the South Downs, a long range of chalky hills that run from Winchester in the West to Eastbourne in the ….East!

The eagle eyed may spot a few pointy roofs on the left, beneath the deciduous woodland.

That’s the visitor centre for the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust which exists to preserve wetland habitats and birds.
