If you buy the full on £18 entrance ticket you get to look inside the magnificent Arundel Castle.

Look out for Queen Victoria’s bedroom, and staircase to her bed!

My favourite room was the library, exquisitely decorated – it may be feel like I was walking through mammoth Pullman railway carriage with Agatha Christie style furnishings.

Unlike may English Heritage castles this one is still used as a family home.

That whole wing left of the lawns is out of bounds.  Which is fair enough, there’s more than enough to see elsewhere.

In case your wondering the building was extensively  modernised in the Victorian era, hence the large windows instead of arrow slits.

If you want to visit get there early, otherwise you’ll be forking out a few quid to park at the bottom of the hill.
