putting out the fleece
On Saturday night one of the congregation at Kents Road Church, Haywards Heath decided to put her most recent painting up on the wall.
She wasn’t sure if it was the right thing to do, so she laid out a fleece.
It’s by a third generation Christian and inspired various triggers including a holiday in Iceland, and seeing The Passion Play at Wintershall.
The story of the painting is on the sheet in one basket, and in the other are beautifully painted fish.
Folk are invited to write a name on a fish, and place it in the net – whilst at the same time praying for the individual concerned.
Would this concept go down well? She wasn’t sure hence the fleece.
I know a man who on Sunday morning spoke from John 21, where Jesus commanded the disciples where to fish after they’d spent a whole night and caught nothing.
Moments later Peter was hauling in 153 fish. Amazingly when the congregation saw this painting there were 153 days until Christmas.
It was wonderful to be in Haywards Heath as a sister’s faith was rewarded!
