As we cycled towards the pier an inflatable was trying to get out to sea.

The RNLI lifeboat was whizzing around checking things out.

Several times it looked the inflatable would tip end over end, the choppy seas and fierce winds made the journey look ill advised at best.

By the time we’d laboured into position all that was in camera shot was a small yacht coming towards the channel, and a few souls sea watching.

Once I’d taken a few pictures we spun through 180 degrees, and I managed a wind assisted 28.5 mph on the promenade.

I hope to crack thirty one day!
