Today I finished reading a darned good novel.

I used to read Frederick Forsyth a fair bit when I was still at school, and have a vid memory of the closing chapter in “The Day of the Jackal”.

I liked the Odessa File, but was very disappointed by “The Dogs of War”.

This second hand book was on the rack in Salvington Lodge hospital and looked like it could be a good read.

We put £2 in the honesty box (I also picked up a James Clavell novel) and left it in Worthing for a rainy day.

It’s one of Forsyth’s more recent books, and is an absolute blinder.

Whilst it may be more fanciful than a Bond movie it has been written so that the central character is very believable.

Chuck in a  few twists and turns to keep the reader interested and you come away with FIVE STAR book.
