The ferry arrived on time, and I set off on a leisurely drive towards The Millrace Hotel in Bunclody.

The countryside and sunshine soon got me wondering.

How about doing a bit of exploring?

Once I’d seen a brown tourist sign for the Wexford Wildfowl Reserve (with no distance listed) I set off down myriad country lanes.

I almost gave up, but eventually made it …an hour and a half after it had closed.

No problem.

I watched a Little Egret, and spotted the Stena Europa Ferry across the water.

In one of the open hides I caught a glimpse of vocal Sedge Warbler.

The real “stars” were the Swallows swooping around the Pump House.
