Despite the forecasts we had abundant sunshine for a large part out our 4 day mini-break.

I was “cock a  hoop” when I spotted Sanderling flying along the coastline.

On the Monday when the tide was out I thrilled to get quite close to several that were darting along the shoreline.

These diminutive little waders are considerably smaller than the far more common Turnstone that like to hide on the end of Worthing Pier.
