Faith Timeline

A few days ago I was asked if I could be a facilitator at today’s Cafe Church.

The plan was to draw up a timeline of our “Faith Journey”.

I’m not sure I’ve ever done anything like this, but I gave it some thought in the week.

This morning I was given a few more pointers, and for 20 minutes we were left to “get on with it”.

In the event there was little needed by way of “facilitating” so having done my best to make people welcome, I got on with my very own “Faith Timeline”.

I was also given the opportunity to tell my story to the congregation.

I was nice to be asked, after all if we aren’t comfortable  to share our faith in a church building it would be a pretty poor show.

Here’s a few words from the New Testament about sharing our faith.

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord.

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.

He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.

1 Peter 3:15-18

  1. My husband has done a faith timeline, similar to yours, with drawings, etc. Actually, that’s a pretty effective sharing and teaching tool.

    • Hello Joy, good to hear from you. I miss our once regular “chats”. Yes, you’re so right, what I thought would be just a short slot ended up being a time of great encouragement – let’s not keep our light hidden!
