Long-tailed Blue!

It’s not blue and there’s no tail. Okay, there’s a hint of blue on the wings when they open.

However this fairly small butterfly is a rather tatty female with virtually nothing left of the tails.

I wonder whether this one is laying eggs, as her abdomen is curled over.

If you’re getting into the latin stuff the scientific name is Lampides boeticus.

This species is occasionally seen in Sussex, perhaps I needn’t have gone to Hong Kong?
