In the five years I’ve been blogging this is the first time I’ve ever mentioned Mormons.

The male Common Mormon’s behaviour gave the creature its unusual name, as they are polygamous.

Most modern adherents of Mormonism are law abiding and monogamous, but it wasn’t always that way.

The Latter Day Saints will give you more detail on why their founder promoted polygamy, but the stigma remains.

Their original teachings (and founder’s behaviour) were against the traditional values of the day.

In my experience most Mormons are bright, sincere, and zealous individuals.

Forty odd years ago I was impressed by a Mormon and ended up at their Selsdon Chapel.

Once there an “Elder” was keen to point out that he had been a Mormon longer than my friend, thereby inferring he was superior.

Somehow this notion didn’t add up, and apart from the odd street-side debate I’ve stayed clear ever since.
