Here’s a picture I took on the plateau just 45 minutes later.

The Swiss attitude to risk was exemplified by the chap at the door.

As each person walked out onto the hardened ice he announced (in a stern voice).

“Please be careful, otherwise you might die. It’s very dangerous”.

Despite having altitude sickness I still gave it ago.

At one stage a girl slipped and went whizzing past me on her backside, but she lived.

It’s extraordinary that they let folk out in a white out, and a howling wind, but why not?

Isn’t the world over populated anyway?
