Just a few kilometres south-west of Basle lies the small village of Hofstetten-Flüh.
It may be small, but it has a brand spanking new school, a great Sports Platz (centre), a bank, and a small grocery store.
On the periphery there’s vineyards, orchards, and cherry trees.
Up above the open spaces are considerable decidious woodlands.
In the centre of town there’s a pleasing mix of traditional wooden buildings, and ultra contemporary properties with vast windows and open plan interiors.
Some homeowners harness the sunlight, in what looks like a more professional fashion than most UK installations.
