Goodwood’s Finest?

Something clicked when I saw this character at the Goodwood Revival.

It’s a simple outfit, but he wore it with the deportment of Richard Wattis.

So this chap gets my vote for Goodwood’s best dressed man.

Now there’s a guy who acted well!

He starred in scores of great films, my favourites being; –

The Lavender Hill Mob – 1951 (Any film which also features Sid James is bound to be fun)

The Belles of St.Trinians – 1954 (Non stop laughs)

The Inn of Sixth Happiness – 1958 (A fantastic film based upon the life of Gladys Aylward)

Monte Carllo or Bust! – 1969 (alongside the legendary Peter Cooke and Dudley Moore).

The last of these films I remember seeing on a family trip to the cinema, was it Dursley or St.Austell?
