It was hot, and I forgot to take my cap.

When we reached the top of the hill I decided to take a break.

Besides those “Coast to Coast” markers had mysteriously disappeared again.

Where we even on the right track?

A pretty little fly kept landing on the framework to this kissing gate.

Then this colourful fellah lumbered into view.

After the photo is uploaded a lot of the detail is lost, but take it from me.

He’s got eyes bulging out of the front of his head just like  a crab.

He also looks like he’s having trouble walking.

The middle legs on the upper surface seem to be almost colliding!

Ah well, walking can be tough on a hot Autumn day.

But if we hadn’t paused to check our bearings we’d have missed him.

I’m glad we stopped.

Roz wasn’t.

She simply HATES spiders.

  1. Looks like one of our Aussie spiders.
Do you have enormous bird eating spiders there? We do.

  2. Roz & Joy. Kindred spirits. 😉
